The Peterson family (Price, Susan, Rachel, Erik and Daniel) and Hacienda Esmeralda rarely require introduction in the coffee world. Hacienda Esmeralda is known to be the “founders of the Geisha coffee cultivar”, however more accurately, they saved it and introduced it back to the world for its cup quality. The Petersons have a family history of producing coffee which dates back three generations. Their family was also one of the founding families of the town of Boquete.

Outstanding cup quality, winning 1st place in the SCAA Roasters Guild Cupping Pavilion (2005, 2006, 2007), 1st place in the Best of Panama Auction (2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2013) and 1st Rainforest Alliance Cupping for Quality (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013) are only a few of the awards and accolades awarded to the Petersons for their dedication to quality.

Hacienda Esmeralda and the Petersons are world renown as the best. We are honored to have a dedicated relationship with them.
