From October 10th-16th, Sacramento will be celebrating its nationally recognized specialty coffee community with events throughout the region. Temple Coffee and Bottle & Barlow present Battle of the Brews. Baristas and bartenders will unite to create and present a craft cocktail using Temple Coffee in the first annual coffee cocktail competition. COFFEE OLYMPICS – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14TH @ 7PM
Join Temple Coffee Roasters and the Coffee Hangar for a night of Olympic fun. Six teams of five will compete for the title of Coffee Week Champions in a series of events including a tricycle relay (while holding a cup of coffee, of course), an obstacle course and a Coffee Bag Shot Put competition. Temple Coffee and Shine Cafe presents a panel of women in various positions in specialty coffee who will lead a discussion regarding female visibility within the industry. Coffee Week and SPLAT join forces to bring you one incredible “speak-easy” themed party! Located at the beautiful Antiquité Maison Privee in Midtown Sacramento, the final round of SPLAT (Sacramento Public Art Tournament) will take place alongside a huge silent auction of goods donated by Coffee Week’s generous local sponsors. Attendees are encouraged to dress in old-fashioned “speak-easy” 1920s style attire. Adult beverages will be available as well as local vendor booths. Come join the biggest coffee party of the year! Panama Tony Vasquez Catuai 2000 Memorial Coffee – This special offering is a memorial to our friend and coffee partner Tony Vasquez who passed away this summer. Enjoy his beautiful coffee by the cup in a French Press or Pour Over all week, with a portion of proceeds donated to the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama, an organization Tony helped begin.
Cascara Gelato + Single Origin Espresso Affogato – Cascara is a tea made with the fruit that surrounds the coffee bean before processing. We’ve teamed up with Localis Sacramento to create a cascara-infused gelato, over which we pour a double-shot of our single origin Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora espresso.
