About our Capital Cold Brew Blend

Our Capital Cold Brew Blend is the perfect coffee to enjoy throughout the bright summer days. This year's blend features coffees from Colombia, Guatemala, and Burundi. The drinking experience starts with high notes of citrus, with the sweetness of dried fruit, finishing with a full, creamy body of milk chocolate and almonds.

How to make a cold brew concentrate

70g coarsely ground coffee (sea salt size)
700g cold water.

Place the grounds into a strainer or cheese cloth, placing it into the container of cold water. Steep for 16 hours at room temperature and set to strain after. Do not dilute the brewed cold brew, this is the concentrate we will be using in the recipe.

How to make the Capital Cold Brew Old Fashioned

To your cup, add 1 teaspoon of brown sugar. In a traditional, old fashioned, a white sugar cube is used. However, in this recipe we use brown sugar as the presence of molasses helps to add body and sweetness to the drink to help cut through the added coffee. Add two dashes of angostura bitters to the sugar and muddle the ingredients together. Add your ice cube to the glass along with 1 oz of the cold brew concentrate, 2 oz of your choice of bourbon whiskey, and give it a quick stir to combine and chill. Take the peel of an orange and squeeze over the top to express oils, swiping it along the rim before placing it in the drink. Top with two cherries to finish the drink and enjoy!
