Warm aromas of freshly baked persimmon bread and sweet golden raisin come to mind, soon accompanied by rich notes of decadent milk chocolate. A favorite of ours for over a decade, this coffee offers a medium body and complex finish with lively acidity.

Story

Hunapu is Luis Pedro Zelaya's project to create high-quality micro-lot coffees from smallholder producers within the Antigua region of Guatemala. This offering is the culmination of carefully selected Bourbon coffee lots from smallholder farms nestled at the base of the volcano Aqua, creating a unique microclimate with mineral-rich soil. The collected lots are processed and milled at Bella Vista, operated by Luis Pedro and the stellar Bella Vista team. Over the last few years, they have made major mill renovations to use less water and create new products from used coffee cherry pulp. Bella Vista pays premiums for the best quality to producers and provide ongoing technical agriculture training and sharing best practices for farm management. We have worked with Luis Pedro and Bella Vista's Hunapu for over ten years and excited for its annual return. Enjoy!
