Our flagship espresso blend for almost 20 years, Dharma Blend, has been specifically created for our cafes, baristas, and little has changed since then. Dharma Espresso Blend incorporates three distinct coffees from Latin America and Africa, each roasted separately and then later blended to profile.
The first component comes from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Grown high in the municipality of Campos Altos from family-run large fazendas, these natural processed coffee from this region offers a dense, creamy body, plus contribute notes of rich chocolate and maple syrup sweetness.
The second coffee component comes from Guji, Ethiopia. The Mulish washing station receives cherries from 880 smallholder producers. Coffees from Ethiopia offer a noteworthy fruit-like sweetness, and this coffee component is no different. Providing a dried fruit sweetness and fullness in body, this Natural process coffee adds complexity and depth to this espresso.
The third coffee comes from the West Valley, Costa Rica, near Poás volcano. The Guardia family has owned Sonora Estate for three generations, and their coffee has been a main component. Sonora Red Catuai Honey processed coffee is the workhorse of the blend, bringing complexity and sweetness.
Although each coffee maintains its own unique qualities, each of them comes together to create one harmonious tasting experience in our Dharma Espresso Blend. Based on seasonality, we may include another Latin America component. Enjoy!
