Story

This is our second year of offering our seasonal blend, The Beam Blend. Being founded in Sacramento in 2005, we have a strong tie and commitment to our community. The Beam Blend represents a fun highlight of our very own Sacramento Kings basketball team. When creating this blend, we aimed for a rich, full-bodied crowd-pleaser everyone will love. We went with three coffees, a natural Brazil Campos Alto, washed Colombia Huila and washed Papua New Guinea Nebilyer Valley. Campos Altos is made of medium to large size farms near the city of Campos Altos in Minas Gerais. We visited them in July of 2024 and were awe-struck by the scale of production in Brazil. The second component is from smallholder producers in southern Huila, Colombia each producing and processing coffee directly on their one to two-hectare farm, which we visited in August. The third component is from Papua New Guinea. Smallholder farmers organized around the Kuta mill in Nebilyer Valley in the western highlands near Mount Hagen. This blend combines the body and deep chocolate notes from Brazil with the juicy and liveliness of Colombia and Papua New Guinea. When blended together, this coffee has a nutty creaminess, cocoa sweetness, and the liveliness of a pomelo. Enjoy!
