Cold Brew

Cold brew has become one of the most popular iced coffee methods out there, and with good reason. It has a strong rich flavor, is highly caffeinated, and has low acidity making it appealing to a large audience during these hot summer days. The best part of brewing cold brew is that it is very forgiving and easy to customize to your specific preferences for strength. Here is a simple recipe to follow along to to make your very own cold brew right at home!

COLD BREW RECIPE

90g of coffee - very coarse (sea salt sized)

Pour grounds into a paper filter bag (we use these Alto filter bags)

Tie the filter bag closed and place into a 32oz jar

Pour 720g of cold filtered water into the jar and screw on the lid

Steep coffee for 16 hours at room temperature

Remove the filter bag full of coffee grounds from the cold brew concentrate

Dilute the cold brew concentrate to taste with water and pour over ice when serving

Concentrate will keep for 10 days in a refrigerator

Pro tips: use freshly ground coffee and filtered water for best flavor. If you want to brew a larger batch, just use 1 part coffee to 8 parts filtered water. The final dilution will affect your cold brew strength, so feel free to play around with how much water to add to fit your personal preference.
