Story

While pursuing a degree in agriculture, Sergio Romero spent much of his time working on his father’s coffee farm, La Lesquiñada, located in Corquín in western Honduras, an area known for producing some of the country’s finest coffees. After completing his education, Sergio inherited the farm and now manages it alongside his brother, Walter, continuing a family tradition that spans three generations. As third-generation producers, the Romero brothers have expanded their focus beyond their own farm to support the broader coffee community in Corquín. They founded Cafico (Cafés Finos Corquín), an organization dedicated to advancing regional coffee production through improved farming practices, greater transparency, and long-term socio-economic development. Through Cafico, the Romero brothers work closely with local producers to promote environmentally and socially responsible cultivation methods, helping to elevate both quality and consistency across the region. Their efforts have contributed to strengthening Corquín’s reputation as one of Honduras’s most dynamic coffee-producing areas. We are pleased to have partnered with the Romero brothers since 2018 and to share this offering with you.
