Coffee Origin
When we talk about Single Origin coffees, we are referring to coffees grown in one geographical region, sometimes even one specific farm. Single Origin coffees have unique terroir traits due to the soil, elevation, variety, and growing practices of the farmer. Come taste with us some coffees from all around the world to grow your understanding of what flavors you can expect from a coffee depending on where it is grown! You might just find your next favorite coffee growing region!
Friday, August 21st
Exploration of the Flavor Wheel
If you have come to any of the coffee classes before, you might recognize this important tool that all coffee professionals or hobbyists keep nearby when conducting a tasting. The Coffee Flavor Wheel, specifically the one developed by the SCA, is one of the best references anyone can use to better understand what they may be looking for when tasting coffee. In this class, we’ll be breaking the wheel apart, understanding where it came from, and how to better differentiate each component through none other than a tasting!
